The Turner Diaries was written by William Luther Pierce under the pseudonym of Andrew MacDonald. Pierce was a former leader of the white supremacy group National Alliance. Timothy McVeigh cited this book as an influence for his violent actions. Other white supremacists have stated likewise. Any way you cut it, William Luther Pierce was a hateful racist who does not deserve to have his book read by anyone. This is why I will not read this even out of curiosity. This is written partially as a warning and partially as a protest to Goodreads' new policies.
