The Origin of Species - Charles Darwin I've read over half of this and I think I got it. Darwin,as expected, is long-winded and dry but he actually writes better than I expected. As to the importance of this work, there is no doubt it is a seminal work of science and modern science has only confirmed the brilliance of his scientific theory. Not bad for a science book that is 150 years old. Now that i have the basics,or more accurately verified I understood the basics, I will switch over to Dawkins' The Greatest Show on Earth to get a more modern stance on the theory of evolution.
